Redwood City, San Mateo County
Redwood City has been the seat of San Mateo County since the county was formed in 1856. The old courthouse, finished in 1910 with a stained-glass dome, now houses the county history museum and faces a public square used for concerts and outdoor movies. The Fox Theatre, a 1929 movie palace, stands across the square.
